Derby Winner Ferdinand died in a Foreign Slaughterhouse.
APPROXIMATELY 100,000 American horses are slaughtered each year for consumption in nations like France, Belgium, and Japan.
Pro slaughter lobbyists are putting strong pressure on Congressional members to prevent a vote on the popular anti horse slaughter legislation. Even worse, 13 states have tried to allow horse slaughter at the state level.
Because of past failure to pass a federal ban, all horses are now shipped by kill buyers to Mexico and Canada for slaughter. Every month, thousands of American horses are cruelly transported to Mexico and Canada without food and water for days, crammed into filthy and unsafe trailers, often double-decker rigs resulting in numerous severe injuries and death from trampling.
Those who make it alive to Mexico slaughter houses are butchered in the most savage manner possible. ( They are stabbed to death )

If a Derby winner like Ferdinand can be slaughtered, then no horse is safe.
